NET Group hosted the EU FP6 MING-T Project 2nd Meeting

July 2-3, 2007, the Computer Networks Group welcomed partners from Germany, France, Italy, UK and China for the EU MING-T's 2nd project meeting. The logistics information is available in http://user.informatik.uni-goettingen.de/~fu/ming-t

The MING-T project is an EU FP6 IST specific targeted research project on exploring a converged vision of European and China's digital video broadcasting technologies. The Computer Networks Group has been involved in the origination, setup and project organization efforts and is a member of the project steering committee, leading its Work Package 1 and several other activities.

Participants of this meeting included (but not limited to):
- Prof. Dr. Zhisheng Niu: Vice Dean of the School of Information Science and Technology, Tsinghua University, China; IEEE ICC 2008 TPC Co-Chair.
- Prof. Dr. Jian Song: Director of Digital Television Research Center, Tsinghua University, China
- Prof. Dr. Yang Ji: Technical Director of Wireless Technologies Innovation (WTI) Institute, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT), China; Vice Director of the Mobile Technology Laboratory of the Sino-German Joint Software Institute (JSI-MTLab)
- Prof. Dr. Jianwei Zhang: Director of Institute for Technical Aspects of Multimodal Systems, University of Hamburg, Germany
- Researchers, engineers and technical officers from Nokia Siemens Networks, CREATE-NET, ENESYS, Frontier Silicon, China Telecom, etc.

The meeting has raised intensive discussions and attendees exchanged broadly technical ideas and knowledge.
