Description
It has been well-known that TCP behaves not ideally in wireless environments, particularlly because of its congestion control algorithms designed for wired networks. By applying a cross-layer method in access routers, it is possible to optimize the end-to-end TCP performance.
This thesis examines closely the reliability and congestion control aspects in a wireless access IP router. The objective is to implement the proposed method in Linux and evaluate its scalability.
