> New DAAD-PPP project on big data has been accepted (17.11.2017)
The project "Detection and prevention of insider data exfiltration in big data environments" has been approved by DAAD. As a two-year bilateral research staff exchange project with Victoria University, Melburne, Australia, it will start beginning of 2018 and ends in December 2019. more...

The research paper "Thank You For Being A Friend: An Attacker View On Online-Social-Network-Based Sybil Defenses", authored by David Koll, Martin Schwarzmaier, Jun Li, Xiaoming Fu, received the best paper award of the 9th International Workshop on Hot Topics in Planet-Scale Mobile Computing and Online Social Networking (HotPOST 2017), co-located with the 37th IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing Systems (ICDCS 2017). > EU-Japan FP7 GreenICN project successfully completed and new EU-Japan H2020 ICN2020 project approved (02.06.2016)
After three years of intensive research, the EU-Japan FP7 collaborative research project "GreenICN - Architecture and Applications of Green Information Centric Networking" coordinated by NET group successfully passed the final review in Tokyo, Japan, May 25, 2016, with a grade of "Excellent". The new EU-Japan Horizon 2020 project "ICN2020 - Advancing ICN towards real-world deployment through research, innovative applications, and global scale experimentation", also coordinated by NET group, has been recently approved by EU and NICT, which is going to start officially in July 2016 and will last three years. In these projects the NET group is collaborating with industry players (KDDI, Cisco, Ericsson, NEC, etc) and academic institutions (Rome, UCL, Osaka University, Tokyo University etc) on investigating how Information-Centric Networking, a future internet paradigm, could be enhanced and experimented in various applications. more...
