Alessio, Abhinandan and Sameer successfully defended their dissertations

Three Early-Stage Researchers of NET group, supported by the EU FP7 ITN CleanSky project, Alessio Silvestro, Abhinandan Sridhara Rao Prasad, and Sameer G. Kurkarni successfully defended their dissertations on the area of cloud computing, network function virtualization and software-defined networking. Congratulations! Alessio worked at NEC Europe in Heidelberg and conducted his PhD studies at NET Group in Göttingen. On 25.06.2018 he successfully defended dissertation entitled "Architectural Support for Implementing Service Function Chains in the Internet" with the examination committee comprised Prof. Dr. Xiaoming Fu, Prof. Dr. Simon Pietro Romano, Prof. Dr. Jussi Kangasharju, PD Dr. Mayutan Arumaithurai, Prof. Dr. Ramin Yahyapour The other two researchers both work at NET group for their PhDs. On 21.06.2018 Abhinandan defended his thesis on "Automated Provisioning of Fairly Priced Resources" with the examination committee of Prof. Dr. Xiaoming Fu, Prof. Dr. Nils Aschenbruck, Prof. Dr. Dieter Hogrefe, PD Dr. Mayutan Arumaithurai, Prof. Dr. Carsten Damm, Prof. Dr. Stephan Waack. On 04.07.2018 Sameer defended his thesis on "Resource Management for Efficient, Scalable and Resilient Network Function Chains", under the examination committee of Prof. Dr. Xiaoming Fu, Prof. Dr. Klaus Wehrle, Prof. Dr. Dieter Hogrefe, PD. Dr. Mayutan Arumaithurai, Prof. Dr. K. K. Ramakrishnan, Prof. Dr. Jens Grabowski. Before them, Faraz Fatemi Moghaddam (GWDG) was another CleanSky fellow who defended his PhD from the University of Göttingen on 12.12.2017. All CleanSky Experienced Researchers (Postdocs) became a faculty member after their CleanSky employments:

• Dr. Konglin Zhu became an associate professor at BUPT, China
• Dr. Song Yang become an associate professor at Beijing Institute of Technology, China
• Dr. Sachin Sharma became a lecturer (assistant professor) at  National College of Ireland, Ireland
