Prof. Xiang-Yang Li is visiting the NET group during May 30-June 1, 2023 and giving the following colloquium talk:

Invited talk title: AIOTSmart Sensing, Edge Computing, and Privacy Issues

Talk time: 15:00-16:30, June 1, 2023

Room: SR2.101, Institute of Computer Science, Goldschmidtstr. 7, 37077 Göttingen

Speaker: XiangYang Li (ACM Fellow, IEEE Fellow; Professor, Executive Dean of School of Computer Science and Technology, University of Science and Technology of China)

Abstract:

Some core challenges of the Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIOT) systems are to overcome low-power cross-domain deep sensing, reliable network connectivity in complex scenarios, and intelligent and secure data-sharing and computing. In this report, I will first overview some of the current challenges of AIOT, and share some of our team's preliminary research results and explorations in the field of AIOT, including 1) intelligent sensing based on low-power (even battery-free) technologies, using RFID-based, wearable or battery-free devices 2) passive, large-scale low-power networks, 3) intelligent edge computing that supports data and computing offloading, and 4) security privacy issues in the realm of AIOT. Finally, we will review our recent progress on AIOT systems and applications.
